I Know You…Fear.Less

I have to admit I have been stewing in a whole lot of emotion lately. Without even recognizing it. I came upon the realization that I have been gripping onto a constant tension. A constant simmer of worry about how things are going to be. How things will look. An oscillation of obsession on how things should be. A tension of anticipation of some terrifying outcome.

Since it is essential that I meditate and constantly be grounded, I rolled with the persistent weight of this feeling: constant and below the surface of my bones.

I love my life and I love almost everything about life. (I'm working really hard to be more tolerant with other's ignorance, victimization and narcissism.... it's a journey). I am blessed with amazing love: home, friends, family. LOVE on so many levels. I have even learned to LOVE myself enough to recognize that I too can be loved (oomph was that a journey... still is). And yet, why is it, on a deep level, I am freaked out at the core of my being?

As I dug deeper into to it., something come to light. I have forgotten to put on my own mask before helping others put on theirs. I've been so focused on being there for others, that on some level I inevitably left myself out of the equation.

When we are stressed, we can go into a fear response. This usually manifests itself as; Fight, flight, freeze. These responses are the body's built-in, automatic protection system aimed to keep us from danger. When we are in danger, it's incredibly helpful. Yet when we are simply anxious or stressed, it can create unnecessary, unconscious reactions based on fear.

This may sound strange, but I have learned to make my fear work FOR me, as opposed to allowing myself to be paralyzed by it. There are certain things in life that you just can't control, no matter how you'd like to. Personally, a whole lot of my fears are about things that I simply cannot control. As I move forward to allowing for more LOVE, ease and an expanded way of being, I know that I have choices. I know that there is no true need to feel paralyzed by those things I have no control over...people, places, or things. For example, if I am on a flight that is cancelled, I accept, surrender and move on. More often than not, something amazing happens that I would never have encountered... and sometimes it's just a plain old pain in the posterior.

Anyway, I'm done with the tension of anticipation. I'm inviting you to join me. In times when we are with fear and uncertainty, we need to move and adjust our lives to shift in step with new circumstances. This brings acceptance, clarity and understanding. Acceptance is a key part of ending the continuous fear spiral. I am not saying that you have to like the environment in which you find yourself in. Yet, a foundation of acceptance will help you find your own personal footing. At any point of transformation, a person has to accept the current conditions in order to create deeper change.

Join me in stretching and shaking off the tension of anticipation. You are a magnet for good. Let's remember to Breathe life in deeper. In that breath, recognize the blessings of life; those times you were at the edge of despair, or lost, and some magical thing steps in, out of the blue, and makes it all right. Let's take a moment to honor the times we have been frightened, at a loss, or alone, and yet somehow we have recovered. Respect those times we really needed a certain something or someone, and they have been there for us. Celebrate the gifts in life without taking it for granted.

Choose to:

  • change your mind

  • allow for a new vision and perspective

  • take actions to help support you and your desires,

  • encourage the habits which enhances your life.... Meditate, Exercise, Do something fun!!!

  • eliminate the self-sabotage.

Remember to be compassionate and kind.

And if all else fails, know that I am here for you to help you shift your mind.

Most of all, remember to create a beautiful day.
